A gorgeous city, but expensive our friends from Frankfurt say it is 25pc dearer to live there. The Schwarzer Bok Hotel with its indoor swimming pool with spa water has to be seen and swum in.
They have to cool the water down it comes out of the ground so hot from the thermal springs. Wiesbaden offers a lovely old town, but its a little tucked away!
There are several large parks, my favourite is the Biebricher Schlosspark and the river Rhein, but visitors can also head for the hills - literally, there are miles and miles of forested hills behind the city!
Around the city itself I'd use busses, as there's a good route network, but for said hills and forests a car is preferable.
A good viewpoint is up Neroberg- go up on the funicular railway, visit the Russian Chapel or the open air swimming pool summer time only , and enjoy the view.
There are also two hot springs swimming pools, both worth a visit. There is a small train, if you want to see the highlights but prefer not to walk it all.
Don't forget to visit the large cuckoo clock And Wiesbaden also has direct train connections to Frankfurt and Frankfurt Airport, so totally feasible to do without a car.
Go to the Ratskeller for dinner. It is badly advertised but is under the Ratskeller in the city centre. It is full of locals eating hearty meals and unless you have a gargantuan appetite, order one dinner and two plates.
